RESUMO

The study aims to investigate the precise processes by which the advancement of physical education and technological progress leads to ecological conservation efforts within China's distinctive socio-cultural and economic framework. Acknowledging the pivotal role that economic advancement plays in a nation's environmental sustainability, this research utilizes cross-sectional quantitative data gathered using a five-point Likert scale survey. The sample size included 503 undergraduate students from Zhengzhou, China, and structural equation modeling was utilized to analyze the data. The study investigates how technology progress influences the relationship between compatibility, environmental sustainability, and the relative benefits of physical education. It fills the gap in the literature by illuminating how technical innovation and advanced physical education development contribute to China's pursuit of a sustainable environment. The findings emphasize the critical significance of higher physical education in fostering environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the research indicates that students participating in more rigorous physical education programs tend to possess a more well-rounded and mature mindset. This mindset is essential for healthy and long-lasting mental development, motivating individuals to critically consider environmental sustainability. The study provides valuable theoretical and practical insights that can be applied to enhance environmental sustainability in the country.

RESUMO

Ribose 2'-O-methylation is involved in critical biological processes, but its biological functions and significance in mRNAs remain underexplored. We have developed NJU-seq, a sensitive method for unbiased 2'-O-methylation (Nm) profiling, and Nm-VAQ, a site-specific quantification tool. Using these tools in tandem, we identified thousands of Nm sites on mRNAs of human and mouse cell lines, of which 68 of 84 selected sites were further validated to be more than 1% 2'-O-methylated. Unlike rRNA, most mRNA Nm sites were from 1% to 30% methylated. In addition, mRNA Nm was dynamic, changing according to the circumstance. Furthermore, we show that fibrillarin is involved as a methyltransferase. By mimicking the detected Nm sites and the context sequence, the RNA fragments could be 2'-O-methylated and demonstrated higher stability but lower translation efficiency. Last, profiling of Nm sites in lung surgery samples revealed common signatures of lung cancer pathogenesis, providing potential new diagnostic markers.

RESUMO

Staphylococcus haemolyticus (S. haemolyticus) is a coagulase-negative Staphylococcus that has become one of the primary causes of nosocomial infection. After a long period of antibiotic use, S. haemolyticus has developed multiple resistance phenotypes for macrolides and lincosamides. Herein, we evaluated four S. haemolyticus clinical isolates, of which three had antibiotic resistance patterns reported previously. The fourth isolate was resistant to both erythromycin and clindamycin in the absence of erythromycin induction. This novel phenotype, known as constitutive macrolides-lincosamides-streptogramins resistance, has been reported in other bacteria but has not been previously reported in S. haemolyticus. Investigation of the isolate demonstrated a deletion in the methyltransferase gene ermC, upstream leader peptide. This deletion resulted in constitutive MLS resistance based on whole-genome sequencing and experimental verification. Continuous expression of ermC was shown to inhibit the growth of S. haemolyticus, which turned out to be the fitness cost with no MLS pressure. In summary, this study is the first to report constitutive MLS resistance in S. haemolyticus, which provides a better understanding of MLS resistance in clinical medicine. IMPORTANCE This study identified a novel phenotype of macrolides/lincosamides resistance in Staphylococcus haemolyticus which improved a better guidance for clinical treatment. It also clarified the mechanistic basis for this form of antibiotic resistance that supplemented the drug resistance mechanism of Staphylococcus. In addition, this study elaborated on a possibility that continuous expression of some resistance genes was shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria themselves, which turned out to be the fitness cost in the absence of antibiotic pressure.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Physical inactivity is a significant public health concern globally, associated with an increased risk of chronic diseases and detrimental effects on both physical and mental health. Technologically based interventions have emerged as a potential solution to promote physical activity engagement and improve mental health outcomes. However, understanding the effectiveness of these interventions and the role of gender in their outcomes is essential for developing tailored strategies. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of technologically based interventions in promoting physical activity and improving mental health outcomes, with a specific focus on gender differences. METHODOLOGY: This study employed a three-phase mixed methods research design. Phase one was an experimental phase where 300 participants were randomly assigned to intervention or control groups. The intervention group received a technologically based physical activity intervention, while the control group did not. Physical activity levels and mental health outcomes were assessed before and after the intervention. Phase two involved qualitative interviews with a subset of participants (n = 20) from the intervention group. These interviews explored motivations and barriers to physical activity, aiming to uncover personal factors influencing engagement. Thematic analysis was used to identify recurring themes. Phase three utilized a quantitative survey to compare motivations and barriers between males and females. The survey, administered to a larger sample, included participants from both intervention and control groups. It assessed various factors and allowed for a quantitative comparison of gender differences. FINDINGS: findings indicated that the intervention improved the mental health and physical activities level of the intervention groups. Findings also there are 8 motivations for and barriers to using technology in physical activities. Male and females' scores on some of the motivations and barriers were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: technology plays an important role in improving the mental health and physical activities of adults. Findings can be used by health care centers, digital psychologists, and physical trainers.

RESUMO

The segregation of the Fe element in Ti-10V-2Fe-3Al titanium alloy (Ti-1023) can lead to the generation of beta flecks, which seriously affects the performance of Ti-1023 products. During the heat treatment (HT) process at a high temperature, the Fe element in Ti-1023 ingots will migrate, making its distribution more uniform and reducing the segregation index. In this paper, the control of Fe micro-segregation in Ti-1023 ingots by homogenization HT was investigated. Firstly, dissection sampling and SEM-EDS analysis methods were used to study the distribution pattern of the Fe element in the equiaxed grains in the core of Ti-1023 ingots. It was found that the Fe content in the grain gradually increased along with the radial direction from the core to the grain boundary. Then, the homogenization HT experiments and numerical simulations of Ti-1023 at different HT temperatures from 1050 °C to 1200 °C were carried out. The results showed that the uniformity of Fe element distribution within grain can be significantly improved by the homogenization HT. With increasing HT temperature, Fe atoms migration ability increases, and the uniformity of Fe element distribution improves. Homogenization HT at 1150 °C and 1200 °C for 12 h can effectively reduce the degree of Fe element segregation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: WRINKLED1 (WRI1) encodes a transcription factor, belonging to the APETALA2 (AP2) family, and plays a key role in regulating plant oil biosynthesis. As a newly woody oil crop, tree peony (Paeonia rockii) was notable for the abundant unsaturated fatty acids in its seed oil. However, the role of WRI1 during the accumulation of P. rockii seeds oil remains largely unknown. RESULTS: In this study, a new member of the WRI1 family was isolated from P. rockii and was named PrWRI1. The ORF of PrWRI1 consisted of 1269 nucleotides, encoding a putative protein of 422 amino acids, and was highly expressed in immature seeds. Subcellular localization analysis in onion inner epidermal cells showed that PrWRI1 was located at the nucleolus. Ectopic overexpression of PrWRI1 could significantly increase the total fatty acid content in Nicotiana benthamiana leaf tissue and even PUFAs in transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana seeds. Furthermore, the transcript levels of most genes related to fatty acids (FA) synthesis and triacylglycerol (TAG) assembly were also up-regulated in transgenic Arabidopsis seeds. CONCLUSIONS: Together, PrWRI1 could push carbon flow to FA biosynthesis and further enhance the TAG amount in seeds with a high proportion of PUFAs.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the effects of 12-week physical exercise (jogging, basketball, and outdoor training) on sleep quality, harmful mood, and heart rate variability (HRV) in college students with Internet addiction. Methods: 46 college students with Internet addiction were chosen and then randomly assigned to the Internet addiction group (IA, n = 23) and the Internet addiction exercise group (IA+EX, n = 23). The subjects in the IA+EX group underwent physical exercise for 12 weeks (three times per week), and the IA group did not perform regular physical exercise during the experiment. Then, the degree of Internet addiction, depression, and sleep quality were evaluated by using Young's Internet Addiction Test (IAT) scale, Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale, and Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI); HRV were measured by using Polar Team 2 before and after physical exercise intervention. Results: (1) After the 12-week exercise, compared to preexercise intervention, the scores of IAT, CES-D, and PSQI significantly decreased (t = 12.183, 9.238, 5.660; P < 0.01) in the IA+EX group; compared with the IA group, the scores of IAT, CES-D, and PSQI significantly decreased (t = 2.449, 3.175, 4.487; P < 0.05, P <0.01) in IA+EX group college students with Internet addiction. (2) After the 12-week exercise, compared to preexercise intervention, LFn and the ratio of LF/HF significantly decreased (t = 5.650, 3.493; P < 0.01) and HFn significantly increased (t = -2.491, P < 0.05) in the IA+EX group; there were no significant differences in the above indexes before and after the experiment in the IA group (P > 0.05). Compared with the IA group, HFn significantly increased (t = 3.616, P < 0.01) and the ratio of LF/HF significantly decreased (t = 2.099, P < 0.01) in IA+EX group college students with Internet addiction; there was no significant difference in LFn between the two groups. Conclusion: Long-term physical exercise could significantly reduce the degree of Internet addiction and depression, improve sleep quality, and balance sympathetic parasympathetic function of college students with Internet addiction, indicating that exercise-based intervention might be an effective way to alleviate or even eliminate Internet addiction.

RESUMO

Deep learning is a subfield of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) technology, and multiple deep learning-based AI models have been applied to musculoskeletal diseases. Deep learning has shown the capability to assist clinical diagnosis and prognosis prediction in a spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders, including fracture detection, cartilage and spinal lesions identification, and osteoarthritis severity assessment. Meanwhile, deep learning has also been extensively explored in diverse tumors such as prostate, breast, and lung cancers. Recently, the application of deep learning emerges in bone tumors. A growing number of deep learning models have demonstrated good performance in detection, segmentation, classification, volume calculation, grading, and assessment of tumor necrosis rate in primary and metastatic bone tumors based on both radiological (such as X-ray, CT, MRI, SPECT) and pathological images, implicating a potential for diagnosis assistance and prognosis prediction of deep learning in bone tumors. In this review, we first summarized the workflows of deep learning methods in medical images and the current applications of deep learning-based AI for diagnosis and prognosis prediction in bone tumors. Moreover, the current challenges in the implementation of the deep learning method and future perspectives in this field were extensively discussed.

RESUMO

Among the beliefs related to teaching work, self-efficacy stands out and encourage innovation across the global education systems. Specifically, the lack of interest among instructors in introducing innovative techniques in physical education is a concern across China. Therefore, this study intends to investigate the role of cognitive indicators (mental workload, decision-making process, innovation in physical education, and self-efficacy) of innovation in physical education across China. This study opted for quantitative techniques, including using a structured questionnaire to collect data from targeted respondents through the survey techniques. Moreover, 800 questionnaires were circulated, and as a result, 420 usable responses were attained, making the overall response rate stand at 40%. The results indicate that the above-stated cognitive factors, along with self-efficacy, have a positive role in causing innovation across the physical education exchequer of China. Likewise, self-efficacy played the mediating role between cognitive indicators and innovation in physical education in China. The study has notable theoretical and practical implications for the policymakers in terms of introducing policies that could help increase the cognitive state of educationists, which in turn possibly will help make them pursue innovation within the education system of China.

RESUMO

This study assessed the psychometric features of the Chinese version of the Situational Motivational Scale (SMS) from a cross-cultural perspective. 758 Chinese PE university students of the sports department (boy 52.6%, n = 357; female 52.9%, n = 401) completed the forward-backward translation-based SMS Chinese version. Using confirmatory factor analysis, the psychometric features of the 16-item SMS were examined (CFA). GFI = 0.96, CFI = 0.98, TLI = 0.97, RMSEA = 0.04) after incorporating two residual covariance for items loaded on the same factor and internal consistency. The alphas of the scales, according to Cronbach, were between 0.83 and 0.95. The composite reliability (CR) was between 0.87 and 0.95, and the AVE ranged from 0.69 to 0.77 for the subscales. The results give empirical evidence that the Chinese version of the SMS has sufficient psychometric characteristics for gauging motivation among Chinese PE university students in the sports department.(AU)

RESUMO

The commonly-used large-scale knowledge bases have been facing challenges in open domain question answering tasks which are caused by the loose knowledge association and weak structural logic of triplet-based knowledge. To find a way out of this dilemma, this work proposes a novel metaknowledge enhanced approach for open domain question answering. We design an automatic approach to extract metaknowledge and build a metaknowledge network from Wiki documents. For the purpose of representing the directional weighted graph with hierarchical and semantic features, we present an original graph encoder GE4MK to model the metaknowledge network. Then, a metaknowledge enhanced graph reasoning model MEGr-Net is proposed for question answering, which aggregates both relational and neighboring interactions comparing with R-GCN and GAT. Experiments have proved the improvement of metaknowledge over main-stream triplet-based knowledge. We have found that the graph reasoning models and pre-trained language models also have influences on the metaknowledge enhanced question answering approaches.

RESUMO

In recent years, with the continuous reform and innovation of the sports industry, the national training of sports talents has gradually developed into the training mode of skilled sports talents and professional talents in the field of sports. Therefore, the research on the influence of entrepreneurship education on the entrepreneurial psychology of sports majors has become the inevitable requirement of the development of the sports industry. The purposes are to understand the entrepreneurial psychology and its influencing factors of the students in sports majors after graduation and promote more suitable college students to start businesses and realize self-value. With the students in sports majors in four colleges of Y province as the research object, the typical model in psychology, planning behavior model, is taken as the basic theoretical basis. The questionnaire method combined with the data mining technology based on the decision tree model is adopted to study the influencing factors of entrepreneurial psychology of sports majors. It focuses on the influencing factors and mechanisms of the entrepreneurial drive of sports students. The results show that the three factors, namely, entrepreneurial behavior attitude, entrepreneurial subjective norms, and entrepreneurial perceptual behavior control, are different and interrelated. They are inseparable and can be transformed into each other under certain conditions. Three factors jointly drive the entrepreneurial behavior of students in sports majors. The entrepreneurial drive of students in sports majors in Y province is a dynamic system mechanism, which is analyzed using data mining technology. The entrepreneurial perceptual behavior control is the core factor affecting the entrepreneurial drive of students in sports majors. However, the success rate of entrepreneurs will be higher when the three elements play a reasonable role. The subjective factors driving their entrepreneurship will be reduced in direct proportion when entrepreneurs are deficient in one aspect.

RESUMO

The purposes are to deepen the understanding of the correlation between learning motivation and learning burnout and thereby stimulate the learning motivation of college students. According to the theory of educational psychology, mechanism of learning motivation, and causes of learning burnout are analyzed. The learning motivation and learning burnout of college students majoring in sports are taken as the breakthrough point. The learning motivation and learning burnout situation of Chinese and Malaysian students majoring in sports are surveyed and compared through questionnaires. In addition, Chinese students majoring in sports are taken as examples to analyze the impact of learning motivation on learning burnout. The correlations between various dimensions are analyzed to determine the impact of learning motivation on learning burnout. The total learning motivation scores of students from the Sport School of Zhengzhou University and the University of Malaya Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences are 122.3 ± 22.4 and 140.2 ± 23.6, respectively, and their average scores for each question are 3.60 and 4.07, respectively. The total learning burnout scores of students from the Sport School of Zhengzhou University and the University of Malaya Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences are 58.2 ± 8.95 and 53.6 ± 7.34, respectively. The learning motivation of Malaysian college students majoring in sports is slightly stronger than Chinese students. Compared with Malaysia, the learning burnout of college students majoring in sports in China is extra apparent, mainly exhibited in the two dimensions of depression and a low sense of achievement. The learning motivation and learning burnout of college students majoring in sports are negatively correlated; that is, the stronger the learning motivation, the weaker the learning burnout; on the contrary, the weaker the learning motivation, the more severe the learning burnout. In conclusion, learning burnout of college students can be reduced by correcting and stimulating their learning motivation and improving their learning self-efficacy.

RESUMO

Colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have recently attracted great attention in electric field sensing via the quantum-confined Stark effect (QCSE), but they suffer from the random local electric field around the charged QDs through the Auger process or defect traps. Here, QCSE in the ensemble of phase-pure wurtzite CdSe/CdS QDs was studied by applying a uniform external electric field. We observed clear field-dependent photoluminescence (PL) and absorption characteristics in thick-shell CdSe/CdS QDs with 11 CdS monolayers (11 MLs) including a pronounced spectral redshift in PL of ∼2.3 nm and absorption of ∼2.1 nm. The time-dependent PL intensity traces implied that the thick-shell QDs were conducive to realize the Stark shift in QD ensembles due to the effective suppression of the main sources of the local field. These findings were in stark contrast to those of moderate-shell (5 MLs) and ultrathick-shell (15 MLs) CdSe/CdS QDs. The measurement value of exciton polarizability was smaller than the theoretical value, which may be influenced by very few exciton traps. Moreover, the amplified stimulated emission also exhibited obvious optical modulations under the electric field with decreased emission intensity and an increased ultrafast lifetime. Finally, the temporal evolution of the multiexciton process in thick-shell CdSe/CdS QDs indicated that the multiexciton state induced a higher energy state near the band edge, which may weaken the QCSE of a single exciton. Therefore, it was demonstrated that efficient field control over the optical properties of these nanomaterials is feasible and this can open up potential applications in field-controlled electro-optic modulators.

RESUMO

Mn2+ ions were introduced as exciton couplers to enhance the quantum yield (QY) of type-II photoluminescence (PL) from CdS/ZnSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) with slow hot-exciton cooling and low radiative rate. Transient absorption spectroscopy verifies the faster bleach recovery and faster peak red-shifting at the charge-transfer state. And the transient PL peak of the QDs changes from blue-shifting to red-shifting due to Mn2+ doping. The QY of type-II PL can be enhanced from ∼35% to ∼60% by Mn2+ doping. As the energy-transfer-stations of hot excitons during rapid ET (∼100 ps), Mn2+ ions transform more excitons from hot to cold for emission. As the couplers of cold excitons during long thermal equilibrium (∼100 ns), Mn2+ ions further decrease exciton trapping by strong bidirectional coupling. This work provides a unique way of acquiring high QY of type-II PL, and highlights the general law of PL enhancement in Mn-doped QDs.

RESUMO

"Giant" semiconductor quantum dots (GQDs) have tremendous potential for applications in laser devices. Here, CdSe/CdS core-shell GQDs (11 monolayers) have been synthesized as lasing gain material. The photoluminescence decay of the GQD ensemble is single-exponential, and the two-photon absorption cross-section is above 105 GM. This article presents a versatile method for fabrication of CdSe/CdS GQD distributed feedback (DFB) lasers by laser interference ablation. A high-quality surface-relief grating structure can be readily created on the GQD thin films, and the relationship between laser beam intensity and surface modulation depth is studied. With appropriate periods, single-mode lasing emission has been detected from these devices under excitation wavelengths of 400 and 800 nm. The laser thresholds are as low as 0.028 and 1.03 mJ cm-2, with the lasing Q-factors of 709 and 586, respectively. Lasing operation is realized from the direct laser interference-ablated QD DFB structures for the first time.

RESUMO

The development of colloidal quantum dot (QD) lasers is blocked by Auger recombination (AR). Here, phase-pure wurtzite CdSe/CdS core/shell QDs with controlled shell thickness are reported, which possess nearly defect-free core/shell interfaces. Benefiting from increased volume, electron-hole partial spatial separation, and nearly defect-free alloyed interface, this series of QDs exhibit a greater than 3 orders of magnitude decrease in AR rates with increasing shell thickness. Consequently, the amplified spontaneous emission threshold of the QDs with an 11 monolayer CdS shell is found to reach a minimum of 16 µJ cm-2. A record long lifetime (>1000 ps) and extraordinarily large bandwidth (>170 nm) of optical gain are observed by employing ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy. We leverage the low-threshold gain of the QDs to fabricate microlasers that display single-mode operation and an ultralow threshold of ∼2 µJ cm-2. Our results represent a valuable step toward practical QD lasers.

RESUMO

Well-defined plasmon couplers (PCs) that comprise a Ag core overcoated with a SiO(2) shell with controlled thickness, followed by a monolayer of CdS-ZnS core-shell quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized to modify the emission from trap-rich CdS-ZnS QDs by adjusting the distance between the QDs and Ag nanoparticles (NPs). When the thickness of the SiO(2) shell was 10 nm, because the shell could effectively suppress the non-radiative energy transfer from the semiconductor QDs to the metal NPs and the localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) of the Ag NPs spectrally matched the emission peak of the CdS-ZnS QDs to bring about strong plasmon coupling, optimum enhancements of the surface state emission (SSE) (17 times) and band-edge emission (BEE) (4 times) were simultaneously realized and the SSE to BEE intensity ratio was increased to 55%. As a result, a bright white-light source with 1931 Commission Internationale d'Eclairage (CIE) chromaticity coordinates of (0.32, 0.34) was realized by the superposition of the two emissions. The experimental results from Ag/SiO(2)/CdSe-ZnS and the Ag/SiO(2)/CdS:Mn-ZnS core/shell/shell PCs indicated that suppressing the non-radiative decay rate (k(nr)) was the underlying mechanism for plasmon coupling fluorescence enhancement.
